The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce will welcome US Senator Todd Young to Bloomington for a special presentation.
The 2021 Federal Focus will be held on Friday, October 22, at the Woolery Mill. The event is from 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and includes remarks from the Senator, and a moderated question and answer session. The Chamber’s Federal Focus event was created to allow dialogue and information sharing between the local business community and elected officials at the federal level. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from the Senator on topics that impact the nation’s business climate, upcoming and recent legislative priorities, and updates from Congress. The question and answer portion of the event will be moderated by Dan Peterson, Vice President Industry and Government Affairs with Cook Group Incorporated. This event is open to the public, but registration is required. Tickets may be purchased on The Chamber’s website. Individual seats for Chamber members are $20 and non-members are $35.

PRESS RELEASE: The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce Celebrates 106th Annual Meeting9/30/2021 Bloomington, IN – The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held its 106th Annual Meeting and Community Awards this afternoon. This year the Chamber used a hybrid model for the celebration, with sponsors, board members, and award recipients attending in-person at the Monroe County Convention Center and Chamber members participating virtually.
“This past year has been a challenging experience for many of our members as we continue to deal with the COVID pandemic,” said Erin Predmore, President & CEO of the Chamber. “Here at the Chamber, we are glad to be a steady resource for our members as we navigate the situation together, and we are grateful to have opportunities like our annual meeting to connect with you, even if in a hybrid setting.” Outgoing board chair and Regional President of German American Bank, Cindy Kinnarney, called the meeting to order, and noted her gratitude for the Chamber staff and her fellow board members during her time as chair. She also kicked off the Community Awards ceremony, honoring a variety of business owners and community leaders from the past year. ![]() Beginning this fall, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce is offering Chamber members free Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) trainings through a grant from the Duke Energy Foundation. Trainings will be provided by The Guarden, which offers diversity education training for institutions, corporations, and organizations of all sizes. ![]() On Friday, August 27, 2021, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce’s Bloomington Women in Leadership (BWIL) will host its first Community Engagement Day. BWIL is a professional women’s group that empowers, inspires, and engages through mentorship, professional development, and community. This first Community Engagement Day will be a donation drive for The RISE! families, a transitional housing community for women and their families affected by domestic abuse. The donation drive will be in the parking lot across the street from First United Methodist Church from 10:00AM – 2:00PM. The BWIL steering committee requests the public and local businesses take part in bringing donations of new or very gently used household items to the corner of 4th Street and Washington Street at the donation tent. ![]() The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce is actively seeking candidates interested in the role of President and CEO. Purpose The President and CEO of The Chamber is expected to be a key and effective community leader in Monroe County. Advancing the voice of commerce, playing a critical role in public policy development, strengthening the Chamber’s relevance, and providing opportunities to members to develop their businesses are core purposes of the role. The President and CEO is expected to develop strategy and see to timely tactical execution to achieve desired results for our members. Accordingly, the President is expected to select, develop, lead, and manage the Chamber staff, maintaining a collaborative environment. Predmore will stay on through the transition and the search for the next leader of the Chamber is underway. “While being closer to our extended family will be fantastic, I know we will miss the Bloomington community a great deal. The event, which debuted in 2013, is three events rolled into one: Business After Hours, a Business Expo and a delicious slider contest with local restaurants. It is an exciting way for Chamber members to connect with other members and the public to connect with local businesses, while enjoying some tasty samples from local eateries.
This year’s PrimeTime Business After Hours & Slider Contest has over 90 exhibitors and features a variety of drink and food vendors besides the slider teams.
