What a fun night on the field! IU Athletics - who has been a supporter of The Chamber through the Women Excel Bloomington Awards for several years - hosted a special ribbon cutting and behind-the-scenes tour of IU's Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, June 25. The event was exclusive to Chamber members and participants in the YPB program... and more than 225 guests came out for the special opportunity. Guests entered the north end zone of Memorial Stadium and gathered in the Henke Hall of Champions. Appetizers and drinks were available for the guests, and the facility was decked out in cream and crimson. Scott Dolson, Deputy Director of Athletics, welcomed guests in the evening, and shared about IU Athletics history and the renovations made at Memorial Stadium. Erin Predmore, president and CEO of The Chamber, thanked IU Athletics and Indiana University for their ongoing support of The Chamber and the business community. A variety of door prizes were given out during the event, then IU Sports Marketing students and team members gathered for a ribbon cutting on the stage inside Henke Hall. After the ribbon cutting celebration, guests were provided a special behind-the-scenes tour of Memorial Stadium. The tour included the Excellence Academy, Schwarz President's Suite, Tobias Nutrition Center, Shuel Academic Center, the IU Football Team Meeting Room and Position Rooms, Wilkinson Strength and Performance Center and wrapped up on the football field! Families grabbed photos at "The Rock," raced their kids on the field and took photos from all angles. It was a perfect night of fun for everyone... and we're grateful to IU Athletics for helping make such great memories for our Chamber members and their families!

When you have temperatures in the 70s, blue skies, a beautiful golf course, more than 100 golfers, wonderful sponsors and supporters and a full crew of staff and volunteers, you have the recipe for a perfect day of golf! The Chamber's 36th Annual Golf Scramble took flight on Wednesday, June 12 at The Golf Club at Eagle Pointe. Golfers began arriving shortly before 10:00 am to warm up on the putting green (sponsored by FASTSIGNS) and driving range (sponsored by Holiday Inn and ISU Insurance Services The May Agency). The City of Bloomington served as the Recycling Cart sponsor and Fourwinds Lakeside Inn and Marina returned as the cart sponsor for the day. At 11:00 Chamber president and CEO Erin Predmore welcomed everyone and recognized sponsors and supporters of the event. Tony VanNess reviewed the rules of the day and thanked everyone for attending, and then the 26 teams of golfers took off across the course for a shotgun start. Golfers had the opportunity to meet and network with a number of hole sponsors for the event, including:
Additional sponsors of the day included IU Credit Union, Rogers Group / Rogers Group Investments, CFC Properties, Duke Energy and Markey's Rental & Staging. A special thank you goes out to Master Rental Center for providing tents, tables and chairs for our hole sponsors. The day moved quickly on the course, with the first team arriving back to the clubhouse just before 4:00 pm. Golfers gathered for food and drink provided by The Golf Club at Eagle Pointe, and then awards were presented.
Everyone left with a smile on their faces... we're grateful to our Ambassadors who assisted with set-up in the morning, the entire team at The Golf Club at Eagle Pointe for making the day run so smoothly and to all of our sponsors and golfers who made it a great day! Bloomington Women in Leadership - BWIL - is a new program that we offer as a member benefit. Every other month we plan to have a BWIL lunch & presentation that will help women recharge their professional batteries, develop meaningful relationships, and learn more about local women owned and managed businesses.
Today we had the opportunity to hear Jill Harding with Tomato Fish Marketing speak about a very important topic. “STRONGER + TOGETHER” Every Woman’s success should be inspiration to another. Jill’s presentation was engaging, funny and meaningful to each BWIL attendee. We had a lucky winner that went home with a book recommended by Jill, Ambre Blends goodie bags, Dove chocolates and a FULL tummy thanks to Nameless Catering Company. Why Ambre Blends goodie bags? Jill and Brooke of Tomato Fish Marketing didn’t share about their business, instead they introduced a longtime friends business (Ambre Blends) to demonstrate “We’re strongest when we cheer each other on!” Thank you to everyone that attended and Monroe County History Center for the wonderful event space. What a great night celebrating ten years of Women Excel Bloomington! Congratulations again to our 2019 honorees: We were fortunate to have nearly half of our WEB honorees join us at this year's event... and it's wonderful to see these individuals come together again to support one another. Thank you to Schweikhardt Photography for capturing the smiles and accomplishments of these wonderful WEB honorees! We've also posted several photos on Facebook - please tag yourselves and share them!

Governor Crouch address the topics of housing, Lake Monroe and infrastructure across the state. The Lt. Governor answered a few questions at the end of the event, touching on the 2019 Stellar Communities Program and workforce matters across the state. Thank you to our sponsors and attendees who made the event a success! Nearly 80 Chamber members and YPB participants gathered on Friday, May 10 to participate in the quarterly speed-networking event, Morning Buzz. College Mall's food court is a great place to host the event - plenty of tables and chairs, and attendees could network and connect throughout the day. Thank you to Mallor Grodner for being our 2019 Rise and Shine sponsor, and to RCV Roofing for being our May Early Bird sponsor. We also appreciate College Mall hosting us and Terry's Catering for providing coffee! More photos are available on The Chamber's Facebook page! |
