This fall's New Member Connect was hosted by Graduate Bloomington on Tuesday, October 19th. New Member Connect is for new members, new employees of members, and anyone who needs a refresher on what the Chamber can do for you and your business. The Chamber revamped the way New Member Connect was set up this time for a more interactive way for our members.

The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held its 106th Annual Meeting and Community Awards this afternoon. This year the Chamber used a hybrid model for the celebration, with sponsors, board members, and award recipients attending in-person at the Monroe County Convention Center and Chamber members participating virtually. The Chamber recognized several honorees during the awards portion of the event. The 2021 Community Award honorees included: New Business of the Year – Switchyard Brewing Company Lloyd Olcott Community Service Award – Bethany Penrod, Middle Way House Success School Golden Key Award – Jerry Hays, Owen County State Bank Nancy Howard Diversity Award – Big Brothers Big Sisters South Central Indiana Community Anchor Award – Downtown Bloomington, Inc. Morgan Hutton Visionary Award – Jane Kupersmith, City of Bloomington Diane Breeden-Lee Catalyst Award – Emily Pike, New Hope for Families Lifetime Achievement Award – Melanie Walker, TASUS and Mick Renneisen, City of Bloomington Chamber Ambassador of the Year – Pamela Boswell-Dike The Chamber would like to extend a special thank you to the event and table sponsors of the Annual Meeting. After much anticipation, The Chamber held it's first in-person Morning Buzz of the year. This popular speed-networking event was held at the College Mall Food Court. There were 5 rounds of connections with our attendees. The first ever Community Engagement Day for the Bloomington Women in Leadership was held on Friday, August 27th as a donation drive to benefit the families of The RISE!, a transitional housing community as part of Middle Way House. Donations included housewares, cash, and gift cards. After months of much anticipation, PrimeTime Business Expo re-launched Business After Hours for the Chamber. Attendees enjoyed sliders from The Tap and Village Pub on August 19th at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. These two competed in the Chamber's Slider Contest. Beverages were provided by Cardinal Spirits, Upland Brewing Company, and Switchyard Brewing Company. Over 50 vendors showcased their businesses during this expo. Thanks to everyone who came out! What a great night celebrating Ten Under 40!
