On Monday, October 3, 2022, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce and Young Professionals Bloomington held it's Elect Connect at the Mill. During this event, Chamber members and members of the community were able to have the opportunity to talk with local candidates on the ballot this upcoming November. The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held its 107th Annual Meeting and Community Awards on Thursday, September 29, 2022. This year, the Chamber was back fully in person at the Monroe County Convention Center.
The Chamber recognized several honorees during the awards portion of the event. See the photos from the event below! On Friday, July 22, 2022, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held it's 11th annual Ten Under 40 awards ceremony at Woolery Mill. With over 150 attendees, our ten award winners were able to celebrate all that they have accomplished. The 2022 Ten Under 40 award winners are: Adam Beasley, Kasey Butcher, Priscilla Cuevas, Josh Dodds, Kayla Dusseau, Lisa Greathouse, Dr. Julius Hanks, Megan Holtsclaw, Emily Pike, and Aubrey Williams. We were fortunate enough to have such support from our sponsors and our community. On Thursday, July 21, 2022, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held it's monthly Business After Hours in partnership with Develefy Consulting at the Moose Lodge. See the photos from the event below! Starting Monday, June 13th, the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held it's annual Chamber Member Appreciation Week. During this week, the Chamber celebrates all of it's members but also highlights it's milestone members. The Chamber even was able to highlight three milestone members this week with a few videos to tell their stories. These stories included Burnham Rentals, ForthPhaze Technology, Inc., and Choice Realty & Management.
Throughout the week, Chamber Ambassador's visited milestone member's businesses to thank them for their membership. Lastly, on Friday, June 17th, the Chamber hosted an Open House at the Chamber office's to celebrate member's businesses and their support of the Chamber. And a special thank you to Jimmy John's, Roly Poly, Kroger, and Crumbl Cookies for the food during the open house, Harris Services, Pfenninger Photography, and Building Associates, Inc., for the donated prizes, Master Rental for the donated party supplies, and to Develefy Consulting. Thank you to all of the Chamber Members for their dedicated memebrship!On Thursday, June 16, 2022, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held it's monthly Business After Hours in partnership with the Cancer Support Community. On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce's affinity group, Bloomington Women in Leadership, hosted Indiana University's first woman president, Pamela Whitten, at Henke Hall at the Indiana University Memorial Stadium. There was a presentation by President Whitten, followed by a Q&A session. In attendance were some young participants from Girls, Inc. The presentation was about President Whitten's journey and what lead her to the leadership position she is in today. The women, and young participants in attendance were able to learn how they could apply President Whitten's strategies to their own leadership journeys. Photos from the event are below. On Friday, June 3, 2022, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce hosted it's first ever Community Conversations at the Golf Club at Eagle Pointe's Eagle's Nest. There was a short presentation by the watershed coordinator, Maggie Sullivan, followed by a panel discussion featuring perspectives on the importance of this resource from community leaders, environmental advocates, scientists, and more to discuss the challenges that may impact businesses, tourism, and sustainability. Attendees were able to come away with a new perspective on the lake's importance to our community and how you can improve its sustainability. The panel featured Alex Crowley (City of Bloomington), Vic Kelson (City Utilities), Jim Krause (Friends of Lake Monroe), Erin Kunkel, MSC (Cook Medical), Jane Martin (Water Fund), and Mike McAfee (Visit Bloomington). Cheryl Munson, Monroe County Council, At-Large Member, moderated the panel's Q&A. |
