On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held it's 12th annual Women Excel Bloomington awards ceremony at the Indiana Memorial Union's Alumni Hall. With over 150 attendees, our seven award winners were able to celebrate all that they have accomplished. The 2022 Women Excel Bloomington award winners are: Danielle Bruce, Jennifer Crossley, Kaisa Goodman, Ashley Hazelrig, Amy Meek, Erika Oliphant, and Karin St. John. We were fortunate enough to have such support from our sponsors and our community. On Thursday, May 19, 2022, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held it's monthly Business After Hours in partnership with the College Mall. See the photos from the event below! The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held it's quarterly Morning Buzz on Wednesday, May 18th at the College Mall Food Court. Over 40 members were in attendance and were able to make many business connections. Please check out the photos from the event below! On Wednesday, May 4th, 2022, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held it's annual Health & Business at the Indiana University Regional Academic Health Center in partnership with IU Health. With five industry leaders presenting top notch knowledge, a question and answer panel, and hospital tours, this Health & Business was unlike any other. With the help of our sponsors, IU Health, Bloomington Health Foundation, IU Health Plans, Bill C. Brown Associates, and Building Associates, Inc., the program featured Brian Shockney (South Central Region President, IU Health), Andrew Espejo (Catalent), Dr. Tashera Perry (IU Health), Chris Liggett (IU Health), and Penny Caudill (Monroe County Health Department). See photos below from the event. On Friday, April 30, 2022, the Chamber's Young Professionals Bloomington group had a networking event at Lennie's for Buddies & Brews. We were able to share about Young Professionals Bloomington and what the group can offer our community and Chamber members. On Thursday, April 21, 2022, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held it's annual PrimeTime Business Expo at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. PrimeTime Business Expo is a business expo, where Chamber members can set-up tables and booths with information and merchandise to engage community and Chamber members and the monthly Business After Hours, where Chamber members can network and interact! PrimeTime is one of the most well-attended events on the Chamber calendar, typically seeing over 500 guests throughout the evening. This year, we had three vendors in our 21+ Lounge: Bloomington Brewing Company, Cardinal Spirits, and Upland Brewing Company; seven food trucks: Big D's BBQ, Bloom Burger, BloomingBowls, Great White Shark, JD's Taste of Chicago, Pili's Party Taco, and Serena's Food Hut; and over 80 vendors, and hundreds of community members in attendance. Brother William Morris, from WFIU's Soul Kitchen, was our emcee for the evening. There were TONS of prizes donated from our Chamber members for our raffle that evening. Thank you to all who attended and to our sponsors for making this event possible. Lannie Pullon taught the group the "Do's & Don'ts When At a Networking Event." He gave insights on the 10 steps to networking, how networking raises your profits, and some tips on best strategies. Below are some photos from the event. On Tuesday, April 12th, 2022, the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce hosted it's bi-monthly Bloomington Women in Leadership (BWIL) event. BWIL is based on three pillars: Empower, Engage, and Inspire. This month focused on Engagement by reaching out to the Bloomington community and volunteering for My Sister's Closer. My Sister’s Closet helps women living in poverty with critical tools and training needed to find employment. When women living in adverse conditions secure jobs, they are better equipped to feed their families and provide safer homes and life changing programming for their children. Bloomington Women in Leadership had a great time giving back to the community during this month's BWIL: Engage. Below are photos from the event. On Thursday, March 17, 2022, The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce held it's monthly Business After Hours in partnership with JCBank. JCBank is located at 2421 S. Walnut Street next to Dairy Queen. Food and beverages were provided by One World Catering. See the photos from the event below! On Friday, March 11th, The Success School hosted a Reality Store® for Tri-North Middle School. The Reality Store® is a simulation that helps junior high students appreciate the ‘realities’ of life and achieve a better understanding of personal finance.
